I love to get out all of the vintage, collectible and handmade items for my October kitchen. On the window sill there is a pumpkin that my mother had 30 years ago, some funny S’More figures in costume and my oldest daughter’s hand-stitched tea towel.
The shelves at the side of the window hold crafted pieces by both daughters.
In the bay window is a painted witch that goes back over 20 years to my decorative arts days.
There is a picture embroidered by my oldest daughter and two wall hangings I made in my early days of quilting.
The top of the big set of shelves holds my painted haunted house and some vintage candles….
…on the middle shelf is a miniature chair I painted along with candlesticks made by my youngest daughter, and some pieces made by my oldest daughter, including some felted wool figures.
I love this decoration my oldest daughter made from an old woman’s shoe. Remember when grandma wore this type of shoe?
In this case, it’s the “Witch’s Night Out” and she has everything she needs for a good time – an invitation to the dance, a fan, a mask and feathers, beads, her dance card, and her “Eau de Lizard”.
All I have to do is get a big bag of candy for the trick or treaters and I’m ready.

Yes, I agree it is so much fun to take out and display all our Halloween decorative items. The ones made by your children are priceless, and your witch is the show stopper for me. She is so cute…looks like a sweet pilgrim girl pretending to be a witch. 🙂 I like her.
Your certainly organized. I haven’t even taken out the decorations yet. Yikes!

What a fun Halloween kitchen… love seeing all those vintage goodies! Thanks for sharing!
Every month you surprise me, Lillian. This month is such an eclectic group of collectibles. with many memories. I remember the old lace-up shoes that my grandmother wore, I thought they were so beautiful.
You have got the most wonderful collections! This one for Halloween is just too cool – especially the Witches shoe. I can’t wait to make something up like that myself., Thank you so much for the idea – you never cease to amaze me!
How great is this. Everything comes together perfectly and I love that each item has a story to tell. Have a great week… Take care!
Great collection! Your collections always make me smile….
I am so amazed by all the things you have for decorating. Do you store these in boxes that stack neatly on top of each other, with cute little labels? I think it’s really special you have your mother’s pumpkin that goes back that long.
You’re right in that I have loads of plastic containers stacked – except they have really BIG labels that I can read easily. I try to bring everything I own out for at least a short time each year. It’s not the best decorating in the world, but I like to see all of those old treasures. My mother wasn’t into collecting and decorating like I am, but she did like that little pumpkin. Lillian
