Pause and Remember – 11/18/2016

On Friday, I pause and remember a single moment from the past week.

maple-display-1My younger son is an engineer who likes to paint

and gave me this painting of the house where all of the

four children were raised.  It  was always especially beautiful

in autumn.

Lillian Applegate Westfelt was a mother of 4, grandmother of 6, and great-grandmother of 3. She was an 86-year-old widow living in a nice little bungalow with her oldest daughter and a beagle-dachsund named Addie. She passed away in November, 2018.

  1. Lillian, his work is beautiful! What a wonderful reminder of your family home.

I must remark on his grand trees in the background! I have tried and tried and seem not to have inherited any talent from my grandmother on my dad’s side nor my grandfather on my mom’s side. Those who can do, and your son can!

  2. Wow, he’s talented. What a wonderful gift for you! I imagine it’s nice to look at it and think about the good times you had there when they were growing up.

  3. How very lovely and filled with so many, many memories. He’s very talented—all your children are and I’ll bet your grands are too. Happy Thanksgiving and blessings.

  4. Love the Painting your Son did,and enjoyed looking at all the collections, and wrote down a couple recipes, Thank You for sharing.
