Miniature Pyramid Easter Tree

An Early Easter Gift

Look what I found on the kitchen table when I got up this morning – an early Easter gift from my oldest daughter.  She made a miniature pyramid Easter tree, constructing the shelves and arranging/gluing all the tiny figures.  The piece stands just 9 inches tall with German metal figures about 1-1/2 inches tall.  I love the rabbit ringing the bell on the top shelf.

The middle shelf holds some more German rabbits with colored eggs in a wheelbarrow, a basket and a backpack.

On the bottom shelf is an assortment of miniature Easter figures…chicks, rabbits, a lamb, an egg…

….a unique and beautiful treasure to enjoy for years to come.

  1. What a great gift! Craftiness obviously runs in the family!

Lillian, could you look in your “cupboard” to see if you have a good recipe for scalloped potatoes?? I’m making Easter dinner this year and I’m not much of a cook. I’ve made several of your recipes which DH has loved! really don’t want to resort to the boxed taters 😦

would really appreciate it!! thanks! annie

    1. I’ve never posted my Scalloped Potato recipe – it’s pretty routine but very good and easy to make. I’ve been making it since 1985.

      SCALLOPED POTATOES

4 cups thinly sliced raw potatoes 1 tsp salt 1/8 tsp pepper 1/8 tsp nutmeg 2 Tblsp. flour 3/4 cup sliced onion 2 Tblsp. butter 1-1/2 cups hot milk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

Grease a shallow 1-1/2 qt. baking dish. Spread half of the potatoes over bottom of dish. Combine salt, pepper, nutmeg and flour. Sprinkle potatoes with half of this mixture and all of the sliced onion. Dot with half of the butter.

Add remaining potatoes, the rest of the flour mixture and the remaining butter. Pour hot milk over the top.

Cover and bake for 65 minutes. Uncover and bake for 15 minutes longer until potatoes are fork tender.

      Serves 4

Hope you have a nice Easter. Lillian
