Pause and Remember – 3/23/2012

On Friday, I pause and remember a single, wordless moment from the past week – inspired by The Warden’s Log.

Lillian Applegate Westfelt was a mother of 4, grandmother of 6, and great-grandmother of 3. She was an 86-year-old widow living in a nice little bungalow with her oldest daughter and a beagle-dachsund named Addie. She passed away in November, 2018.

  1. Oh, it’s the lovely window! I love that tree. Is that a dogwood or a flowering plum or something else? My flowering plum is blooming now, and our dogwoods are all bloomed out.

    1. The tree is a decorative pear. They’re planted all over this subdivision which makes it really beautiful both spring and fall. We used to have a dogwood when we lived in the country (before my husband got Alzheimer’s and then died). It’s probably my favorite along with the redbud. Lillian
